Al-Jarwan meets the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal to promote Tolerance and Peace

HE Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, received, earlier this morning, HE Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, in the Nepali capital of Kathmandu, in the presence of Mr. Saeed Hamdan Al Nakbi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nepal. Mr. Mahara welcomed Al-Jarwan and his accompanying delegation, praising the role of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.

HE Al-Jarwan briefed the Speaker of the Nepalese Parliament on the latest developments of the work of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in spreading a culture of tolerance and supporting peace efforts around the world. He also explained to Mr. Mahara the role of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and its efforts to unify the international parliamentary efforts to spread tolerance and promote peace in the world. HE Al-Jarwan presented Mr. Mahara with the invitation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to the Nepalese Parliament to nominate a member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from Nepal.
For his part, the Speaker of the Nepalese Parliament highly praised the role of the Council and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, expressing the readiness of the Nepali Parliament to work together and harness all possibilities to support the efforts of the Council, stressing the initiative of the Nepali Parliament to nominate a member for the International Parliament for tolerance and peace from Nepal.

HE Al-Jarwan also met with HE Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, who announced his support for the Council and its lofty goals in spreading tolerance and peace around the world.

Al-Jarwan briefed Minister Gyawali on the role played by the Council on the international scene and the latest developments in promoting the culture of tolerance and peace in the world, stressing the need for joint diplomatic action and harnessing the mechanisms of soft power to face the challenges to international peace, as a result of the expansion of fanatical and extremist ideology and the spread of terrorism, racism and exclusion, and in order to reach a more tolerant and peaceful world.
The two sides discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to reinforce the promotion of a culture of tolerance and peace, and Nepal’s recognition of the council as an international organization dedicated to tolerance and peace.

For his part, Minister Gyawali praised the efforts of HE Al-Jarwan and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stressing the importance of such a role in consolidating peace and spreading tolerance, expressing Nepal’s readiness to cooperate in all possible ways with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to reach these lofty humanitarian goals.
