Malta’s New Minister for Home Affairs Receives Aljarwan and Reaffirms Continued Support for the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

H.E. Glenn Bedingfield, the newly appointed Minister for Home Affairs of the Republic of Malta, received H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at his office in Valletta.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with both sides emphasizing the importance of promoting the values of tolerance, peace, and dialogue, while supporting international initiatives that contribute to greater security, stability, and peaceful coexistence among nations.

H.E. Aljarwan congratulated Minister Bedingfield on his appointment to the new Maltese Government, wishing him every success in his national responsibilities. He also praised the longstanding partnership and close cooperation between the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the Republic of Malta, describing it as a model of constructive collaboration in advancing shared humanitarian values.

For his part, Minister Bedingfield expressed his pride in maintaining his longstanding relationship with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, reaffirming his continued support for its mission and objectives to promote a culture of tolerance and peace and to strengthen dialogue among parliaments and peoples.

Minister Glenn Bedingfield is one of the founding members of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, one of the principal bodies of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. He joined the Parliament at its inception as a representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Malta and has remained closely associated with its work prior to his recent appointment as Malta’s Minister for Home Affairs.
