President of North Macedonia Receives Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Delegation as Aljarwan Stresses the Importance of Peace and Rejects Iranian Attacks on Gulf States

H.E. Dr. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, President of the Republic of North Macedonia, received the delegation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) participating in the 14th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), led by H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The meeting took place in Skopje and was attended by a number of parliamentary speakers and international parliamentary delegations taking part in the session.
President Siljanovska-Davkova welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of holding the session at a time when the international community is facing growing challenges and crises. She underlined that peace, tolerance, and dialogue have become essential political and humanitarian tools for addressing escalating conflicts and tensions around the world. The President also commended the efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in promoting dialogue, coexistence, and parliamentary diplomacy as a bridge for understanding among nations and peoples.
During her remarks, the President referred to her previous visit to the United Arab Emirates and her participation in the World Governments Summit in Dubai. She expressed her appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to her and praised the UAE’s development model, which successfully combines the preservation of national identity with openness to innovation, technology, and modernity.

For his part, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan expressed his sincere appreciation to President Siljanovska-Davkova for her warm reception and for her support of the 14th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace. He noted that the world is passing through a particularly sensitive period that requires stronger commitment to the values of peace, dialogue, and mutual understanding, as well as greater support for parliamentary and diplomatic efforts aimed at safeguarding international peace and stability.
Aljarwan also addressed the recent Iranian attacks targeting Gulf countries and neighboring states, reaffirming the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace’s rejection of any actions that violate the sovereignty of states or threaten civilians and critical infrastructure. He stressed the importance of respecting international law, safeguarding freedom of navigation, and ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open as a vital international maritime passage. He further called for political and diplomatic solutions to prevail in order to preserve regional and global stability.
The 14th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace is discussing a range of issues related to the promotion of tolerance and peace, as well as the role of parliaments in shaping future policies that support coexistence, stability, and sustainable development.
