The start of the tenth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in Morocco

The work of the tenth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace began today in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, with the meetings of the committees of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace and the Parliament’s Bureau, which were held in the Moroccan House of Representatives, with the participation of 80 parliamentarians representing various parliaments of the world.
His Excellency the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace met at the headquarters of the House of Representatives, Mr. Rachid Talbi Alalmi, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, where they discussed the latest developments in joint work related to tolerance and peace and ways to enhance joint action to spread the values of tolerance and peace and reject violence, extremism and hatred.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace chaired the meeting of the Parliament’s Bureau, and the meetings of the six permanent committees were held; The Peace Planting Committee, the Sustainable Development Committee, the Legal Affairs Committee, the International Relations Committee, the Women and Youth Committee, and the Countering Extremism and Terrorism Committee.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Jarwan stressed that today’s preparatory meetings for tomorrow’s meeting to be held in the Moroccan House of Representatives discussed the need to work on finding a solution to the food and energy security crisis and focused on addressing contemporary issues and the latest political developments on the international scene through peaceful dialogue sessions.. He added that the committees discussed the formation of Working groups in local and regional parliaments support the spread of tolerance and peace, and the formation of a specialized committee of parliamentarians was approved to follow up on the implications of international food security and ways to protect and enhance it.
It is noteworthy that the tenth session of the International Parliament will complete its work by holding the plenary session tomorrow at the headquarters of the Moroccan House of Representatives in Rabat, in the presence of the Speakers of the House of Representatives and Moroccan advisors, the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and representatives of more than 60 countries around the world. The work of the tenth session will conclude on Friday, July 15, 2022 in Dakhla city in the Moroccan desert.
