Pope Tawadros II receives the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church, welcomed His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at the papal headquarters in Cairo.

During the meeting, Al Jarwan highlighted the recent Tolerance and Peace Conference held in Seville, Spain. The conference, which included participation from various Christian and Islamic clerics as well as the Secretary-General of Human Fraternity, focused on the role of religious leaders in promoting tolerance and peace.

Al Jarwan emphasized the Council’s commitment to fostering collaboration among religious leaders to implement the outcomes of the Seville Conference. He expressed his eagerness to organize a joint meeting between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. This proposed roundtable aims to advance global peace and combat hatred, underscoring the significance of Arab countries in delivering messages of peace to the world.

In response, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II expressed his appreciation for these initiatives, voicing his support for all efforts dedicated to rejecting hatred and promoting love and peace.
