Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Praises France’s Pledge to Recognize the State of Palestine

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) has welcomed the declaration by French President Emmanuel Macron announcing his country’s intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

In a statement issued on Saturday, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the GCTP, described the move as a “courageous and responsible step” that supports justice and reinforces prospects for peace in the Middle East.
“Recognizing the State of Palestine represents one of the shortest and most direct paths to achieving peace and stability in the region,” Al Jarwan stated, emphasizing the potential impact such a decision could have on broader international security and diplomacy.
He added that the GCTP sees France’s stance as a reaffirmation of the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to statehood, in accordance with international resolutions and legal frameworks. Al Jarwan further asserted that this initiative can serve as a catalyst for the international community to advance practical steps toward a fair and lasting peace.

The Council called on other nations to follow France’s lead, urging a collective commitment to justice, sustainable peace, and the promotion of coexistence among peoples.
“Justice is the cornerstone of tolerance and sustainable development,” the statement concluded, underscoring the GCTP’s ongoing mission to foster peace, justice, and human dignity globally.
