At the end of his public meeting with the faithful, Pope Francis appealed to the city of Jerusalem, in where he said and we quote: “My thoughts now go to Jerusalem. I can’t express my deep concern concerning what happened during the past few days and I appeal to everyone to respect the status quo of Jerusalem in respect of the United Nations’ resolutions”.
“Jerusalem is a unique and holy city for Jews, Christians, and Muslims who honor the holy sites of their religion and the city has a special call for peace,” he said.
