ADDRESS BY MEMBERS OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE CONGRESS OF THE LEADERS OF WORLD AND TRADITIONAL RELIGIONS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 75th ANNIVERSARY OF THE VICTORY OVER FASCISM AND NAZISM

We, the representatives of world and traditional religions, bound together by our firm belief in the divinely ordained destiny of the human, their inalienable rights and dignity, reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of peace, harmony, mutual respect, cooperation and human fraternity.
We are deeply grateful to states and societies for the noble initiative to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Victory Day over Fascism, the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation dedicated to those fallen of the Second World War for the common good of humankind.
We welcome and support the constructive efforts of states, the United Nations, other interested international and regional organizations and civil society, to build a future world order in which each people lives in accordance with its spiritual values and ideals, in prosperity, peace, mutual respect and harmony with all other peoples of the Earth.
Supporting the main tenets of the Document on «Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together» signed by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb and Pope Francis on 4 February 2019 in Abu Dhabi, as well as the Meccan Declaration adopted by Islamic scholars at the International Conference held in Mecca from 27 to 29 May 2019, we believe that the time has come for wise, consistent, future-oriented actions towards an immediate global ceasefire in all corners of the world, to put an end to armed conflicts and to focus on uniting people around the common values of humanity – solidarity and compassion.
Against the backdrop of the joint efforts of the international community to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and in the spirit of the main messages of all religions, we express our solidarity with the calls of Pope Francis «to create humanitarian aid routes, openness to diplomacy and attentiveness to those who find themselves in situation of serious vulnerability» from the Coronavirus pandemic.
We sincerely believe and pray to the Creator that the troubles and cataclysms that befell all nations and states at the end of the second decade of the 21st century become a lesson in the realization that faith, order, discipline, solidarity, adherence to moral standards and high ethics, tolerance of cultural, ethnical religious and linguistic differences, mutual understanding and friendship between people from different cultures and countries can help overcome challenges and threats to the international peace and security.
In remembrance of the victims of the Second World War, we declare that the outcome of this war, which brought untold sorrow to humanity, should serve as a lesson for modern statesmen, political leaders, and future generations.
Our encounters over the past 17 years on the platform of the Congresses of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, in the city of Nur-Sultan have proved that dialogue among religious leaders can contribute to greater awareness and understanding of the values which are common to all humanity.
We are ready to consistently support and promote constructive dialogue and understanding among different civilizations with their cultures, religions and beliefs.
We call upon all parties concerned to continue and join efforts to strengthen peaceful and harmonious coexistence, respect for religious and cultural pluralism and sacred places of worship on the basis of common human responsibilities, prevention of incitement to ethnical, racial and religious hatred, incitement to discrimination, hostility and violence for the harmonious coexistence of societies and peoples at the local and international levels and the maintenance and consolidation of stability in the world, especially among religions.
Let wars and conflicts remain forever in the past!
May the most High bless the prosperity of peace, the welfare of all nations and our spiritual solidarity!
