Aljarwan Meets the Heads of State and Parliament of San Marino, along with the Foreign Minister, to Discuss Strengthening International Cooperation in Tolerance and Peace

His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, led a high-level delegation on an official visit to San Marino, where he met with the country’s Heads of State and Parliament, H.E. Matteo Rossi and H.E. Lorenzo Bugli. The visit aimed to strengthen international cooperation and further promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The delegation included H.E. Duarte Pacheco, Member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from Portugal; H.E. Hans-Peter Portmann, Member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from Switzerland; and Professor Zoran Ilievski, Director of the Council’s office in North Macedonia.
During the meeting, H.E. Aljarwan conveyed the Council’s greetings and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding partnerships with friendly nations, including the Republic of San Marino, in support of global initiatives that foster tolerance, mutual understanding, and sustainable peace.
Aljarwan also highlighted the Council’s flagship initiatives in strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and promoting legislation that supports dialogue and coexistence among nations.
For their part, the Captains Regent of San Marino, together with the country’s parliamentary leadership, expressed their appreciation for the Council’s role in advancing dialogue and tolerance. They emphasized the importance of intensified international cooperation to address global challenges and promote stability and peace.
They also conveyed their interest in joining the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, as a means to further strengthen parliamentary collaboration in this vital field.
As part of the visit, the delegation also met with H.E. Luca Beccari, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Telecommunications. Discussions focused on avenues for enhanced cooperation and the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest, reinforcing shared goals of fostering international relations grounded in mutual respect and understanding.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening communication and collaboration between parliamentary and governmental institutions to support international initiatives aimed at promoting tolerance and peace at both regional and global levels.
