The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) and its members share their sincere sorrow and shock with the citizens of Vienna and Austria regarding last night’s terrorist attack, offering their deepest condolences to all the families of the victims and the Austrian people.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace added that Vienna is one of the most multicultural and tolerant cities in Europe, and it is known for its welcoming spirit, openness and peaceful coexistence between many nations, religions and cultures and we should not let anything disrupt and alter this fact. Such repeated attacks represent a signal and a reminder to everyone that we need to reject racism, extremism and violence and uphold the values of tolerance, equality and human brotherhood.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace called on the international community to intensify united efforts to fight violence and terrorism that threaten international peace and security, which is one of the main objectives of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The Council will continue through its various organs, members and partners from all over the world to work together, in order to uphold a culture of tolerance and peace, spread the seeds of peace and raise awareness of the importance of peaceful coexistence.
The council also said. “We stand in full solidarity with Austria. We are confident that together we will be stronger than hate and terrorism,”
