Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, on 5 November 2026. The meeting explored ways to strengthen cooperation, expand parliamentary relations, and support joint initiatives to promote tolerance and peace.

Aljarwan praised the relations between the Council and the Republic of Tajikistan, reaffirming the Council’s commitment to advancing cooperation and harnessing available opportunities to implement joint initiatives that promote peace, stability, international trust, respect for peoples’ cultural values, and constructive dialogue.

For his part, the Tajik Speaker affirmed his country’s interest in the activities of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its role in promoting peace, tolerance, mutual understanding, and international cooperation. He also expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to continue working together in these areas.

The meeting addressed Tajikistan’s international peace initiatives, particularly the initiative of H.E. Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, which led to the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution proclaiming the “International Decade for the Consolidation of Peace for Future Generations.” Discussions also covered the high-level conference that Dushanbe will host in May 2027 to launch the implementation of the Decade.

Both sides affirmed that the Council’s objectives and areas of work align with the Decade’s core aims, highlighting the opportunities that joint cooperation offers to advance its goals internationally.

Building on previous understandings, the two sides discussed establishing a regional office of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in Dushanbe, including the related organizational arrangements, to expand the Council’s presence and advance its mission in the region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to maintain coordination and constructive dialogue, further develop the proposed initiatives, and take the necessary steps towards their implementation.
