President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) H.E. Ahmad bin Mohammad Aljarwan praised the Sudanese peace agreement which was signed on Monday in Juba City, South Sudan, between Khartoum and the armed Sudanese movements , ending 17 years of civil war in the Sudan.
Aljarwan sent a letter of congratulation to Lt. General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Al Burhan, Chairman of the ruling Sovereignty Council of Sudan, on the occasion of signing this historic agreement.
In a statement, H.E. Aljawran affirmed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace strongly supports every effort that will help achieve peace and end conflicts and fight all around the world.
He hailed the efforts exerted by the Sudanese interim Government which has prioritised a political settlement through negotiations with the rebels which led to reaching a historic peace agreement that will achieve peace and security all over the Sudan.
Aljarwan said that all the members of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace of parliamentarians and partners have always called for such courageous steps to resolve disputes through negotiations and dialogue away from the fight and war and this is considered as one of the most important principles and goals of the Council which aims to promote the values of tolerance and peace all around the world.
He expressed hope that such historic agreement will be reflected positively on the Sudan in a way that would achieve stability, development and prosperity for the great Sudanese people.
