Malta President opens 1st Academic Conference of Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP)
Valletta / Malta / October 9 / WAM – Dr. George Vella, President of the Republic of Malta, opened the 1st academic conference of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) under the title “Academic Trends in Higher Education for Tolerance”.
The conference, organized in cooperation with Malta University in Valletta, will be held on October 9-10 in presence of H.E. Ahmad Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
During the current session of the conference, many academic scholars, researchers and members of the teaching staff of about 30 international universities will meet to exchange expertise and to discuss the results of the presented research on developing new programs at the higher education in the domain of tolerance.
The participants in the event will discuss the latest innovations, trends and concerns, as well as the challenges they face and the solutions adopted in developing new approaches to obtain master’s and PhD. degrees in tolerance.
Eight cooperation agreements will be signed with 8 new universities from around the world with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) to cooperate in spreading the principles of tolerance and peace through higher education in those universities and institutes.
The participants will also discuss various topics such as the visions and goals of the academic programs in the domain of tolerance, as well as the areas of knowledge and outputs of master’s and PhD. programs on tolerance, in addition to tackling the issue of job opportunities and the important research topics on tolerance for the time being.
The participants will recommend creating a framework for master’s and PhD. programs in the field of tolerance, identifying universities interested in developing proposed curricula and implementing these programs.
