The Speaker of the Greek Parliament, H.E. Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas, receives the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed AlJarwan, and his accompanying delegation, at the Greek Parliament in the capital Athens, and the meeting was attended by the Political Advisor of the Speaker of the Greek Parliament and the member of the Greek Parliament and member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, H.E. Demetris Kyridis.
The two parties discussed means to strengthen the relationship and partnership between the Greek parliament, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its international parliament, with the aim of supporting and unifying all parliamentary efforts to spread the values of tolerance and peace.
The speaker of the Greek Parliament praised the role of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its various organs, the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and the General Assembly, for the great role the Council is playing in spreading tolerance and peace around the world. Mr. Tassoulas mentioned that the world urgently needs an international platform that talks about the importance of tolerance and peace, affirming his support and his country’s support for the council and its goals in spreading tolerance and peace, and their readiness to sign a memorandum of understanding and joint work with the council, calling on the council to hold a session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace at the Greek Parliament, and he promised to encourage the leaders of the European parliaments, to strengthen the partnership with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.
For his part, AlJarwan thanked the Speaker of the Greek Parliament for the warm reception and hospitality, praising the efforts of Greece and its parliament in maintaining security and stability and promoting peace around the world, and stressing the need to unify international efforts to promote tolerance and peace.
