The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Welcomes the Election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV and Calls for the Advancement of the Global Message of Peace

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) extends its sincere greetings to the Catholic Church and the international community on the momentous occasion of the election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV—formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost—as the first Pontiff from the United States of America in the history of the Catholic Church.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, affirmed that the new Pope’s call for peace represents a profound moral compass in a world increasingly burdened by conflict and polarization.

He called on global leaders, faith communities, and civil society to rally around the shared values of peace and tolerance, and to work collectively to embed the culture of peaceful coexistence—fulfilling the divine imperative to secure a just and sustainable peace for all peoples.

President Al Jarwan also paid tribute to the noble legacy of His Holiness Pope Francis, whose unwavering commitment to interfaith dialogue, human dignity, and compassion served as a global beacon of wisdom and mercy in turbulent times.

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace expresses its heartfelt wishes to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV for success and divine guidance in his sacred mission, for the good of the Catholic Church and the betterment of the human family worldwide.
