The Global Council For Tolerance and Peace signs a memorandum of understanding with the Azerbaijani National Assembly
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, and Her Excellency Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan (Parliament), signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and joint action between the Council and the National Assembly of Azerbaijan.
The memorandum signed during the parliamentary meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held on the sidelines of the COP29 conference in Baku.
Gafarova affirmed her country’s and the Azerbaijani National Assembly’s support for the Council’s initiatives and efforts in promoting the values of tolerance and peace worldwide.
In turn, the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace provided a brief overview of the Council’s recent activities and efforts in Asia and around the globe.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in the fields of tolerance and peace at the parliamentary level, supporting the promotion of values such as tolerance, human fraternity, love, and peace while rejecting violence, extremism, and terrorism.
Furthermore, the agreement includes the appointment of a member from the Azerbaijani parliament to the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which now comprises over 100 parliamentarians from more than 100 countries worldwide.
