The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Hails the Truce between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan
The president of Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohamed AlJarwan, praised the ceasefire agreement made between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and the truce that the two countries have reached to end the exchange of gunfire that broke out between them over the region that is experiencing tension over the issues related to water access between the two former Soviet republics.
The president of Global Council for Tolerance and Peace declared in his statement that we commend the leadership role in the two countries in order to contain the crisis; and we acknowledge them for setting up a joint committee for dialogue and crisis resolution. He also added that we call for ending the cross-border clashes and remind both parties of good-neighborliness and to work together to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership for the good, interest, security and stability of the two countries and their people.
AlJarwan has stressed in his letters to the speakers of parliaments of the two countries that the Council is fully willing to work and exert all the possible means, within its organs, in order to consolidate the truce and promote dialogue between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, praising the leadership role of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in declaring the truce and ceasefire . He also wishes the two countries to continue their dialogue to reach a peaceful solution to all conflicts.
