Statement of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace On the International Day of Human Fraternity

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace affirmed that the International Day of Human Fraternity is an occasion to revive the values of tolerance among human beings and to renew the determination to combat all forms of hatred and intolerance espoused by the enemies of peace, as It is an occasion in which we all remember the values that unite the human family in the east and west of the earth, no matter how many religions or cultures are diverse.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, pointed out the importance of remembering the contained noble values in the Declaration of “Human Fraternity” that was issued from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, by His Eminence, the Great Imam Ahmed Al-Tayyib, Sheikh of Al-Azhar and His Holiness Pope Francis, who set a sound approach to restore the spirit of brotherhood among human beings, and confronting differences, divisions and conflicts in order to lead to coexistence in sustainable peace.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace appreciated the pioneering role played by the United Arab Emirates in spreading the culture of tolerance and the values of peace, and its work, which was characterized by sustainability in this field, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace also appreciated the message of Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, which he launched today to celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity, calling for the “Human Fraternity Document” to be a source of inspiration that renews our commitment to stand together as one human family, and to build together an alliance of peace that enriches our diversity and achieves our solidarity.
On this occasion, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace renewed its determination to continue working to spread the values of tolerance that enhance the spirit of human brotherhood and ensure the achievement of peace everywhere in the world.
