Statement by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace on the International Day for Tolerance
Amidst the escalating global unrest resulting from wars, the rates of hatred are on the rise, the gap between the components of the international community widens, divisive tools among peoples flourish, and terrorist and extremist groups strengthen their position on the map of the future, aiming to dismantle love and peace. It is incumbent upon us to emphasize the importance of the International Day for Tolerance as an occasion to raise awareness about promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different countries, peoples, and cultures.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stated in this regard that the Council, through its various partnerships with countries, parliaments, the United Nations and its Secretary-General, as well as educational, and cultural organizations and institutions worldwide, works to promote dialogue and understanding between cultures and to enhance global peace through the promotion of tolerance and mutual understanding.
President Al Jarwan emphasized that achieving world peace requires a steadfast belief in the importance of tolerance and joint efforts from all countries and international organizations. Therefore, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace calls on all countries, international organizations, and individuals to engage in global efforts to achieve peace and promote the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He stressed that by promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, we can build a better future for all peoples and establish true and sustainable international peace. In this regard, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is preparing to hold a general international session in which efforts will be focused on building sustainable peace worldwide.
