PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER: Mr Speaker receives President of The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anġlu Farrugia, met the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), Mr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan.
Mr Al-Jarwan explained the idea behind the establishment of the said Council, its objectives as well as the composition of the GCTP, and elaborated on the Global Parliament for Tolerance and Peace. He also informed that the GCTP will set up its headquarters in Malta.
Speaker Farrugia welcomed the formation of the GCTP and that Malta has been chosen to serve as its headquarters. He highlighted that Malta has always worked for tolerance and peace and looked forward for co-operation between the Parliament of Malta and the Parliament of the GCTP.
Mr Al-Jarwan was accompanied by Mr Georges Soulage, Consultant to the GCTP President, Mr Mousebeck Al Kitbi, Assistant to the GCTP President, Mr Samir Anoiti, Regional Director, UNFPA, and Mr Faris Mekky, Director of Office.
