President of University of Malaga meets with Ahmed Al-Jarwan to discuss building joint cooperation with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), met with His Excellency Dr. José Angel Narbayth Bueno, President of the University of Malaga, during al-Jarwan’s visit to the Spanish city to participate in many international events to support intercultural dialogue, diplomacy and peace.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Spanish University welcomed the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, and stressed that the University of Malaga is proud to consider establishing cooperation with a prominent diplomatic and parliamentary figure such as Al-Jarwan, who has a long history at the regional and international level – through the various organs of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) – in support of the values and culture of pluralism, freedoms of religion, peace, peaceful coexistence and tolerance in various countries of the world, especially in those brotherly and friendly countries of Spain in both the Latin American region, Africa and Asia.
The President of the University of Malaga added that he also commends the central role of the UAE and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) in the support of, through international cooperation and participation in various international initiatives, a culture of tolerance, rejection of extremism, racism, violence and intolerance, and pushing for regional and international cooperative relations that ensure security, stability and peace in various countries of the world.
The Spanish official added that the University of Malaga is considering cooperation with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in order to establish a section, within it, specialized in the studies of tolerance and peace, aimed at promoting the definition of this culture, which contributes to supporting the convergence, understanding and mutual respect between different religious beliefs and cultures in the world.
Ahmed Al-Jarwan thanked the President of the University of Malaga for the role of the Spanish University through its various departments and activities in supporting the culture of love and the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence inside and outside the university. After giving a presentation on the achievements of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Al-Jarwan welcomed the cooperation and partnership between the Council and the University of Malaga, aimed at promoting joint action to achieve the goals of supporting a culture of peaceful coexistence and tolerance through the organization of joint initiatives and events in the future, as well as through cooperating in building a partnership to develop and formulate study programs dedicated to teaching a culture of peace and tolerance and supporting peaceful coexistence. The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace pointed out that the General Assembly of the Council had launched the Master’s Program in Peace and Tolerance Studies a few months ago.
The President of the Spanish University welcomed the establishment of cooperative relations with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), whether at the academic level or through coordination to organize and activate joint international initiatives and events that support the objectives of the University and the Council in supporting the values of peaceful coexistence, pluralism, equality and tolerance.
