His Excellency Othman Ghazali, President of the Republic of the United Comoro Islands, received His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) at the Presidential Palace in the Comorian capital City of Moroni.
Aljarwan’s visit, which is the first of its kind since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, came to provide moral support, and to discuss means to enhance joint work in the domains of tolerance, peace and development.
During the visit, Aljarwan congratulated the Comorian President Othman Ghazali on the continued process of development in the Comoro Islands, and the country’s ability to remain steadfast in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Aljarwan praised the instructions of the Comorian President for supporting the values of tolerance and peace in the region and the world as a whole.
The Comorian President hailed the efforts exerted by Aljarwan and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace for uplifting the values of tolerance and peace all around the world.
H.E. Aljarwan also met Speaker of the Comoros Parliament Moustadroine Abdou, at the headquarters of the Comoros Assembly, where Aljarwan extended congratulations for him on establishing the new Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, and on electing him as its speaker.
For his part, Mr. Abdou hailed the efforts exerted by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its international parliament to unite the efforts of the parliaments around the world for spreading tolerance, love and peace and combating extremism, racism and terrorism.
Aljarwan called on the newly elected Speaker of Assembly of the Union of the Comoros to nominate a new member of the Comoros Assembly at the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).
Earlier, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace met Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Republic of United Comoro Islands H.E. Mohamed El Amine Souef as the two sides discussed means to enhance the joint work between the council and the Comoros Republic in the domains of promoting tolerance and peace in the Republic of the United Comoro Islands and in Africa as a whole.
