Maltese Parliament Receives Ahmed Aljarwan to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in the Fields of Peace and Tolerance

H.E. Ambassador Joseph Cole, Advisor to the Speaker of the Maltese Parliament, received H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at the headquarters of the Maltese Parliament in Valletta, where discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between the Council, the Maltese Parliament, and the Republic of Malta in support of the values of peace, tolerance, and sustainable development at both the regional and international levels.

The meeting addressed the importance of strengthening international partnerships and expanding channels of dialogue and cooperation among parliamentary and international institutions in a manner that supports the promotion of coexistence, respect for diversity, and the advancement of peace and stability among nations and peoples.

During the meeting, Aljarwan reaffirmed the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace’s commitment to broadening cooperation with the Maltese Parliament and Maltese institutions, praising Malta’s role in encouraging dialogue between cultures and supporting international initiatives aimed at promoting stability, peace, and constructive international engagement.

For his part, Ambassador Joseph Cole welcomed H.E. Ahmed Aljarwan and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in supporting international efforts that promote the values of tolerance and peace and contribute to building bridges of understanding and communication among peoples and societies.

Aljarwan also extended an official invitation to the Speaker of the Maltese Parliament and to Ambassador Joseph Cole to attend the upcoming activities of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace scheduled for May, within the framework of strengthening international cooperation and parliamentary engagement in the fields of peace and tolerance.

Both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and joint action during the coming period in support of shared objectives aimed at advancing a culture of peace and strengthening international cooperation.
