He also thanked the audience for their appreciation and their presence, underlining “the importance of the symbolism of the place where the ceremony is being held, in the Peace Hall at the headquarters of the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Holland.”

HE Al-Jarwan said: “Today, I am being presented with this great honor, knowing that it’s for the sake of many sincere efforts that shared my path and my message of tolerance and peace, not for me as a person. I mention among them my colleagues in the Constituent Assembly of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, which was launched in Malta last year, and held me responsible for launching this international program, and continue to provide advice, assistance and guidance on my long journey.

The same for my colleagues and brothers in the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which was an ambition and a dream, and has become today a reality. Deputies from forty-five countries in the world have joined it, to be men of tolerance, peace and giving.

I would also like to mention the hardworking group of colleagues who have worked with me and still are, to achieve these great goals.

But the greatest appreciation, that I cannot fail to mention on this occasion, is the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates, which I live on its free and pure land, the country that launched the first special ministry for tolerance in the world and succeeded in transforming the common life of different sects, religions and races in the land of UAE, from two hundred nationalities in the world, to an oasis of stability and peace, protected by laws of insight and consciousness, that reflect the vision of the founder Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him.”

Al-Jarwan also thanked his family: “Also, I wouldn’t have been able to receive this honoring close to my heart without the unlimited support of my family and wife, whom I am deeply grateful to, for bearing with me all the hardships required along this mission.”

Dr. Khaled Al Aasar, President of LAHAYE Applied Sciences University said in a speech on this occasion that it is a great honor to present to HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan an honorary doctorate degree for his efforts recognized by all, and which made a qualitative shift in the efforts of tolerance and peace around the world.
