The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Assembly of Azerbaijan to enhance cooperation in the fields of tolerance and peace.The signing took place on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting held during the COP29 conference in Baku.
The MoU was signed by the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova.Sahiba Gafarova affirmed her country’s and the National Assembly’s support for the Council’s efforts in promoting the values of tolerance and peace worldwide.
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in parliamentary efforts to promote tolerance, human fraternity, love, and peace, while rejecting violence and extremism.
The agreement also includes appointing a member of the Azerbaijani parliament to the Global Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which now includes over 100 parliamentarians from 100 countries worldwide.
