Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Participates in the Byblos International Cultural Forum and Signs a Cooperation Agreement with the International Center for Strategic Studies and Media

Byblos – H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, took part in the 2025 Byblos International Cultural Forum, held under the theme “Dialogue and Peacebuilding”, with the participation of prominent political, intellectual, and cultural figures.

As part of a strategic move to strengthen cooperation in the fields of dialogue, purposeful media, and joint strategic research, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Center for Strategic Studies and Media in Beirut. The agreement was signed by President Aljarwan on behalf of the Council, and by Brigadier Dr. Ali Awad, President of the Center, in the presence of a number of academics, media professionals, and distinguished guests.

This partnership reflects the Council’s ongoing commitment to expanding its academic and media collaborations, and to supporting initiatives that promote dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive engagement between nations and institutions.

In a press statement on the sidelines of the forum, Aljarwan emphasized that fostering a culture of dialogue remains the most effective path toward achieving security and stability. He praised Lebanon’s long-standing role as a beacon of pluralism and cultural interaction in the region, and commended the intellectual and cultural efforts that continue to advance the values of tolerance and peace.

When asked about the United Arab Emirates’ vision regarding interfaith dialogue, Aljarwan noted that dialogue should not remain a mere slogan, but rather a lived practice reflected in daily life and human relations. He referred to the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi in 2019, between His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, under the wise patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
