Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Condemns Renewed Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza.

On behalf of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, all its members, and partners around the world, His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Council, strongly condemned the renewed Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing and injury of hundreds of innocent Palestinians. These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement reached last January

Al Jarwan affirmed that targeting civilians and the excessive use of force against them is a flagrant breach of international law and all humanitarian norms. He further stressed that such actions represent an unacceptable attempt to impose conditions on the international community by force. The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to supporting fair and lasting peace efforts. It reiterated its call for an immediate halt to all hostilities, the full protection of civilians, and support for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

In this context, the Council recalls the resolution adopted during the twelfth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, held in Geneva, which emphasized the necessity of upholding the ceasefire in Gaza and continuing negotiations to reach a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue through the two-state solution, in accordance with relevant international agreements and resolutions.

Furthermore, the Council underscored the importance of activating the provisions of the Global Peace Charter, issued by the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, during its 11th session in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in November 2024. The Charter advocates for dialogue and peaceful negotiations as the means to achieve peace while rejecting all forms of violence, conflict, and war as solutions to crises.

Al Jarwan urged the international community to uphold its moral and humanitarian responsibilities by taking decisive action to stop the escalation, prevent further violations, and work seriously towards achieving comprehensive peace that safeguards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and lays the foundation for a future of justice and stability in the region and the world.
