GCTP Signs MoU with Europe Asia Center on the Margins of UNHCR–GCTP High-Level Event in Geneva

Geneva, 28 May 2025 – On the margins of the high-level event “Fostering Refugee Resilience: A Shared Responsibility”, jointly convened by the UNHCR and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) at UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva, the GCTP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Europe Asia Center, a Brussels-based policy think tank.
This brief side meeting served to formalize a new partnership between the two institutions, focused on enhancing cooperation in areas such as global education, intercultural dialogue, and parliamentary diplomacy between Europe, Asia, and the Arab world.
The MoU was signed by H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the GCTP, and Ms. Rui Yan, Secretary General of the Europe Asia Center.
H.E. Al Jarwan commented: “We are pleased to expand our international network through this collaboration with the Europe Asia Center, as we continue to foster peace and understanding across continents.”
Ms. Rui Yan added: “This agreement provides a valuable framework for future cooperation, and we look forward to working together on initiatives that bridge global perspectives through dialogue and action.”
Though modest in scale, this exchange reinforces GCTP’s broader commitment to building strategic relationships that contribute to peace, inclusivity, and global engagement—key values echoed throughout the day’s discussions.
