During the World Peace Conference in Dhaka – AlJarwan: It is time for us to work together to uphold the values ​​of tolerance

His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, participated in the World Peace Conference in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, which is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bangladeshi Parliament, and in the presence of the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, the President of the Bangladesh Parliament, Shirin Sharmin Chaudhry, and a group of ministers and parliamentarians and clerics and thinkers from around the world.

AlJarwan delivered a speech in which he thanked and appreciated the government and people of Bangladesh for hosting such a global peace conference, praising Bangladesh’s efforts in supporting the dissemination of the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence and peace.

The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace said: Our world today faces serious threats, such as wars and conflicts, terrorism, extremism and fanaticism, racism and violence, which threaten societies all over the world, and spread hatred and antagonism, and it is our duty as peace-loving political or religious leaders, academics and thinkers, to work To confront these dangers and threats, by all means and possibilities, we must confront the thought that nourishes these phenomena.

Moreover, the world population continues to increase by billions of people, which puts increased pressure on scarce resources, and this scarcity leads to conflicts, political instability, and weak economic growth in some parts of the world, and these factors also lead to migration in search of opportunities Better, in other words, for peace to prevail, there must be justice and inclusiveness in society.

AlJarwan said it is necessary to work on new partnerships between states and governments, international, regional, national and parliamentary organizations, and religious leaders and references, in order to eradicate extremism, remove intolerance, discrimination and hatred, and combat terrorism in all its forms and types, by spreading sound concepts of religions, and instilling the principles of tolerance and peace in our societies.

He stressed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is working to achieve these goals through its various organs, the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and the General Assembly for Tolerance and Peace, declaring: It is time for us to work together to uphold the values ​​of tolerance.
