Donation from the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace forwarded to the NCT
The donation of ten thousand medical masks, which arrived in the Parliament of Montenegro last week, with the coordination of the Vice President of the Parliament Branimir Gvozdenovic and the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ambassador Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, was sent to the National Coordination Body (NCT). At yesterday’s session, NCT recommended that a thousand pieces will be donated to the Assembly, at their request, while the remaining part, nine thousand masks, will be directed to “Montefarm”, which will distribute the donated equipment in accordance with the needs of the Crisis Medical Staff.
The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has sent protective medical equipment to 48 countries, including Montenegro, emphasizing that the aid is intended for those who are on the front lines in the fight against the corona virus.
The cooperation between this prestigious world organization and the Parliament of Montenegro began during the visit of the Vice President of the Parliament Gvozdenovic to the United Arab Emirates, on the occasion of the formation of a friendship group with the UAE Parliament, in November 2018.
In a letter addressed to the president of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Al Jarwan, Gvozdenovic emphasized the importance of the contribution of this global organization and the way in which he pragmatically put the institution he heads at the function of helping 48 countries.
As a reminder, the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is an international organization that aims to spread the principles and values of peace and tolerance in the world, with an emphasis on the younger population and with the support of the UN. The main goals of its existence are to increase the value of tolerance and spread a culture of peace, the fight against discrimination, racism, religious, ethnic and sectarian extremism, as well as the development of international law that strengthens the principles of tolerance and peace.
