The President of Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain meets Al Jarwan in the Spanish Parliament

Today, Tuesday, the President of Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, H.E Meritxell Batet Lamaña, recieved the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H.E Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, as part of the official visit of H.E Al Jarwan to Spain. The reception was attended by the Deputy of the People’s Party (PP) of Spain, and the member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), H.E Carolina España Reina, in addition to the Chief of Protocols and Ceremonies Department, and the Chief of Institutional Relations at the Spanish Parliament.
Al Jarwan and the President of Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain discussed opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the Council, its various organs – the General Assembly and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and the Spanish Parliament. Al Jarwan agreed with the Spanish Official to consider the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between both parties during the upcoming period.
The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace invited Batet to participate in the ninth session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, with Deputies of the Spanish Parliament, in addition to the International Conference on Tolerance to be held between March 26 and 28, 2022 AD. in the United Arab Emirates.
During his meeting with the President of Congress of Deputies in the Kingdom of Spain, Al Jarwan stated the most highlighted efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to support love and peace cultures around the world. Al Jarwan expressed the most notable initiatives and projects in which the Council participates in its application in different countries around the world to enhance peaceful coexistence and tolerance. Furthermore, He praised the importance of the Kingdom of Spain and its various institutions to be an original example of supporting efforts to spread the culture of peace and peaceful coexistence in different countries of the world. Moreover, the role of Spain in many international initiatives that aim to end the conflict peacefully and support the development, prosperity, and well-being in several countries in the world, especially in Latin America and Africa.
On her part, the President of Congress of Deputies in the Kingdom of Spain, Meritxell Batet, praised the efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in the dissemination of respect for others’ culture, peace, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance among the various peoples of the world. She also praised the role of the international Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) in supporting and strengthening the tolerance culture around the world through its sessions held in several countries during recent years. The President of Congress thanked the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace for his aims of partnership with the Congress of Deputies in Spain and establishing collaborative relations with the various State Institutions in Spain.
At the end of the meeting, Al Jarwan awarded the President of Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain the GCTP Medal as an appreciation of the role of the Spanish Parliament and its various Committees in supporting equality, human dignity, peaceful coexistence, peace, and tolerance.
