Al Jarwan stresses the importance of the role of religious leaders in promoting the values of tolerance and peace
The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, stressed the importance of the great role of religious leaders in promoting the values of tolerance, peace, dialogue of civilizations, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence between peoples and societies. This came during a speech he delivered at the round table meeting, which was held at the Headquarters of the Research Centre for Islamic History, Art, and Culture, affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, Turkey.
The meeting, which was held in cooperation with the Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilization Dialogue, was attended by the president of the Board of Directors of the Center, His Excellency Mr. Polat Sarsinbayev, and a number of heads and representatives of relevant religious and cultural organizations and institutions.
In a related context, Al Jarwan and His Excellency Mr. Polat Sarsinbayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nazarbayev Center, signed a memorandum of understanding and collaborative work between the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilization Dialogue with the aim of fostering cooperation and joint work in the areas of tolerance, peace, and dialogue of civilizations.
