On January 25th, Ahmad Bin Mohamed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi International Award 2020, at the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Expatriates in New Delhi, during the thirty-ninth International convention of Non-Residents Indians (NRI) on the eve of the republic Day of India .
The honoring of Mr. Aljarwan came in recognition of his great efforts in promoting and fostering the values of tolerance and peace around the world, and in founding and leading the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. The Global council for Tolerance and Peace includes more than 60 countries and parliaments members from all over the world, and more than 50 organizations and universities working in the fields of tolerance and peace around The world. During The convention, many scientific leaders and social figures were also recognized.
In his statement, on this occasion, the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace affirmed his honor for receiving this important medal, especially that it has been offered by the Republic of India which is known by its crucial and prominent role in the areas of tolerance and peace in Asia and the world. AlJarwan has held different meetings with a number of Indian Parliament members who are interested in working and joining the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, and they have expressed their desire to establish a regional office for the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in India.
