Al Jarwan chairs the meeting of the International Parliament Group for Tolerance and Peace for the Balkan Countries in Sarajevo
His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace chaired the regional meeting of representatives of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which was held at the Parliament of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the capital, Sarajevo.
The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the delegation of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace held several meetings with H.E. Denis Zvizdić, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Edin Forto, Prime Minister of Sarajevo City, H.E. Adnan Utita, Minister of Transport in Sarajevo and H.E. Naida Huta Muminovic, Minister of Primary Education Secondary, and H.E. Davor Djecic, Deputy Prime Minister of the city of Sarajevo, with the aim of exchange of expertise and viewpoints to promote the values of tolerance and peace in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Western Balkans region, and the world as a whole, in the context of the urgent global need to raise awareness of the importance of tolerance and peace. In addition, Al Jarwan discussed with the Bosnian Parliament a project to establish a Park in the name of Peace in Sarajevo, including a monument of tolerance and peace.
His Excellency Ahmed bin Muhammed Al Jarwan delivered a speech before the members of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace at the meeting held at the headquarters of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which he urged the participants to move forward in peace-building processes in the region and transfer experiences with the rest of the world, both within the framework of the projects of the Global Council for Tolerance and peace or other relevant international organizations with which the Council cooperates.
The delegation of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in Sarajevo was composed of H.E. Sasa Magazinovic from the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Branimir Jvozdinovic, Member of the Parliament of Montenegro, H.E. Dubravka Filipovsky, Member of the National Assembly of Serbia, and H.E. Fazil Zandli, Member of the Assembly of North Macedonia. The delegation was joined by His Excellency Jahja Kocaj, Member of Parliament of Kosovo, and Josip Juratowicz, Member of the German Bundestag and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Friendship with Parliaments of the Western Balkans in the Bundestag.
The International Parliament Group for Tolerance and Peace for the Balkans decided to work to include tolerance and peace activities in the parliamentary agendas and to make their contributions to reaching the goals related to peace and tolerance in the region on the way to its European integration, in addition to forming a regional organization for Balkan parliamentarians through a roadmap for action by the end of the year, with the aim of promoting tolerance and peace initiatives in the region and the world.
