Meet Ahmed AlJarwan, Founder and President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) President of the General Union of Arab Experts, President of the Paris Forum for Peace and Development, anc President of the Fundación for Islamic Culture and Religious Tolerance. He previously served as President of the Arab Parliament for two consecutive terms (2012-2016) and as a member of the UAE Federal National Council (2011-2019)
Nith nearly 40 years of experience, Ahmed has built a distinguished career in military service, diplomacy, anc nternational leadership. He served in the UAE Armed Forces before diplomatic assignments in Washington, D.C., and London, later serving in the UAE Federa National Council before being elected the first Presiden of the Arab Parliament. During his tenure, he led the historic transformation of the Arab Parliament from a transitional to a permanent institution,
n 2017, he founded the GCTP in Valletta, Malta. Today GCTP operates through the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), an observer at the IPU, and the General Assembly for Tolerance and Peace (GATP) uniting parliamentarians, universities, and civil society worldwide. Under his leadership, GCTP has forgec strategic partnerships, launched the pioneering Master’s Proaram in Tolerance Studies and Global Peace published Paths to a Culture of Tolerance and Peace and Fostering Refugee Resilience, and signed cooperation agreements with UN entities including UNFPA, UNAOC and UNHCR, as well as the League of Arab States and ALECSO. Combining diplomatic expertise with humanitarian vision and strategic leadership, Ahmed has led GCTP in advancing peace, tolerance, youth and women’s empowerment, refugee support, intercultural dialogue, and inclusive development through global initiatives, strategic programs, and international partnerships.
He has received numerous international honors and recognitions from heads of state, qovernments, and leading international organizations for his contributions to peace, diplomacy, and humanitarian leadership, includina the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, the Harvard Business Council Executives Award, and national decorations from countries including Panama, Albania, Comoros, Diibouti Colombia, Kosovo, and others. He aims to make a lasting global impact by advancing peace, advocating tolerance, and fostering dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence among nations and cultures.
