The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru, H.E. Elmer Schialer, Recieved in the headquarters of the Ministry in Lima, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Aljarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), who was accompanied by an official delegation.
The two sides explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Peru and the GCTP, particularly in promoting intercultural dialogue, advancing global understanding, and countering extremism and hate. The discussions focused on ways to support educational, parliamentary, media, and cultural initiatives that reflect the Council’s mission to spread the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence worldwide.
H.E. Aljarwan expressed deep appreciation for Peru’s longstanding support of the Council’s work and commended the Peruvian government and people for their commitment to peace and mutual respect. He also emphasized the growing importance of partnerships in Latin America as part of the Council’s broader international strategy.
Minister Schialer welcomed the visit and praised the GCTP’s global efforts to uphold human dignity and foster peaceful societies. He reiterated Peru’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that contribute to international peace and security, and highlighted the alignment between the Council’s goals and Peru’s foreign policy values.
Both sides concluded the meeting by agreeing to maintain close coordination and explore new avenues for joint action that would support the Council’s mission and enhance the presence of peace-building values in international platforms.
