The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Condemns Israeli Authorities’ Seizure of UNRWA Headquarters
H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, has strongly condemned the decision by Israeli occupation authorities to seize the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied East Jerusalem, turning it into a settlement outpost.
Al Jarwan emphasized the Council’s firm rejection, along with its members and partners, of any attempts to confiscate or undermine humanitarian facilities in the occupied Palestinian territories. He also denounced any actions that endanger the lives of humanitarian workers or attempt to alter the historical and legal status of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Al Jarwan praised the ongoing efforts of the United Nations through UNRWA to alleviate the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by the Palestinian people under occupation. He called for a concerted regional and international effort to advance the peace process in the Middle East, putting an end to illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state.
