His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), attended the Bahrain Dialogue Forum held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, under the patronage and presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and the participation of His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Bahrain, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, in the United Arab Emirates, and His Eminence the Great Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Sages, His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, and a number of prominent intellectual figures and representatives of religions from different countries of the world.
In his statement, Al-Jarwan praised the hosting, sponsorship and attendance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the forum. He also thanked the government and people of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Bahrain, and the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence for their good organization and generous hospitality.
Al-Jarwan stressed the importance of the forum, which seeks to bridge the views between East and West, and stresses the importance of the role of religious authorities in spreading and consolidating the language of dialogue, tolerance and peace, referring to the Human Fraternity Document signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, year 2019, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates – may God protect him and his patronage – and the need to work on it as a reference for relationship, dialogue, tolerance and peace in the world.
Al-Jarwan called on the various relevant authorities to cooperate and work jointly with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) in order to unify efforts to spread a culture of tolerance and peace in all diplomatic, parliamentary, social, educational and media fields, noting that this is one of the most important objectives of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP).
