The Columbian Parliament grants Al-Jarwan Simón Bolívar distinction in recognition of his outstanding efforts in promoting the values of tolerance and peace
His Excellency Mr. Alejandro Carlos Chacón, President of the Colombian Parliament has vested His Excellency Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Simón Bolívar Distinction (Liberator of Latin America) which is the highest qualification in Columbia, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in promoting the values of tolerance and peace around the globe. This comes as part of the Global Council’s visit to the country in presence of His Excellency Salem Al Owais, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Repubic of Columbia.
Her Excellency, Maria Juliana Ruiz, the First Lady, Spouse of the Columbian President, received the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace delegation and expressed her utmost gratitude for their outstanding efforts in spreading the values of tolerance around the globe. The meeting included discussions on how important cooperation is to the projects and initiatives taken in view of advocating tolerance and peace. Mrs Ruiz also expressed her full support and backing to the supreme objectives of the Council, confirming her readiness to boost projects of the Council for the welfare and worthy cause of the people of the world.
From his side, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Jarwan presented explanations on the new actions of the Global Council in general and the International Parliament for tolerance and peace
The delegation also met Her Excellency Nancy Patricia Gultiérrez, Minister of the Columbian Interior Affairs who welcomed Al-Jarwan and the Council’s delegation, strengthening the support of her Government and its people to the plans and schemes of tolerance and peace, while praising the outstanding efforts of the Global Council and its President, and demonstrating her own availability and readiness of her country to cooperate with the Council with a view of promoting the various projects of tolerance and peace in Columbia and all over world.
Worth noting is the fact that Mr. Ahmed Al-Jarwan had signed a cooperation and joint action agreement with the Columbian University of Pamplona with a view of cooperating in all sectors, notably the academic field, in order to spread the senses of tolerance and peace, while the said agreement accomodating the same principles for promoting iniatives of the university to strengthen the values of tolerance and peace, for instance a Masters’ Degree in Peace, Development and Conflict Resolution, just as it instructed on the importance of cooperation and joint action in supporting and launching common projects aiming at expanding the values of tolerance and peace in Latin America and around the world.Headed by Mr. Al-Jarwan, The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has also met His Excelency Mr. Michael Antonio Sipayos Arevalo, the High Commissionner in charge of peace and justice issues in Colombia, and His Excellency Mr. Francisco Barbosa Delgado, Counsellor to the Columbian President for human rights, and a number of high executives in charge of peace and justice issues within the Columbian presidential palace.
