The Speaker of the Malta Parliament praises the message of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

The President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP)§, H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohammed al-Jarwan, visited today, at the head of a delegation from the Council, the Speaker of the house of Representatives of the Republic of Malta Dr. Angelo Farrugia, presenting the Council’s strategy of tolerance and peace in the face of the growing phenomena of extremism, fanaticism, hatred, racism and terrorism and its devastating effects on the global level.

President Farrugia welcomed the efforts of the Global Council GCTP, praising the choice of Malta as the headquarters of the Council. He affirmed that Malta has established the concept of neutrality in written texts in its constitution since the 1970s, and that it is a bridge of communication and openness between many countries due to its geographic location and neutrality.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Malta congratulated H.E. Al-Jarwan on the occasion of the official launch of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace on Thursday, and wished the Council success in its mission to instill a culture of dialogue and openness and acceptance of the other and raise the values of tolerance, justice and peace, especially among youth around of the world.

Al-Jarwan thanked the Speaker of the Maltese House of Representatives for his great support for the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stressing on the continuity of cooperation “in order to bring the values of love, tolerance and peace to future generations.”

At the end of the meeting, the commemorative shields were exchanged between Dr. Farrugia and H.E. Al-Jarwan.
