The President of the Brazilian Senate Commends Global Council for Tolerance and Peace’s Efforts and Initiatives

The President of the Brazilian Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, has lauded the initiatives and tireless efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace in fostering global peace and tolerance.

The commendation was made during a meeting held yesterday in Brasilia, where Senate President Pacheco hosted a delegation from the Council led by His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at the Senate headquarters.

During the meeting, President Pacheco underscored the critical need for platforms like the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, which play a pivotal role in advancing humanitarian goals.

He reaffirmed his support for the Council’s mission and expressed eagerness to explore avenues of collaboration between the Brazilian Parliament and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.

In response, His Excellency Al Jarwan expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the Brazilian Senate. He emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts to promote tolerance and peace globally, highlighting the crucial role of mutual cooperation in achieving these noble objectives.

As part of their visit, the Council’s delegation engaged with the Brazilian Parliament to strengthen international cooperation in promoting peace, tolerance, and the rejection of violence and extremism. The delegation held a session with several Brazilian officials and parliamentarians, focusing on enhancing the partnership between the two sides. The dialogue covered vital issues pertinent to the current global challenges and the importance of bolstering efforts for just and comprehensive peace in the region. The session was marked by the prominent presence of representatives from various countries and organizations. Participating parliamentarians delivered speeches emphasizing the necessity of peace and tolerance and the importance of collaborative efforts between the Council and the participating countries to achieve shared goals. In a subsequent press conference, Al Jarwan highlighted Brazil’s pivotal role in supporting global issues of tolerance and peace. The Council’s delegation also visited the National Association of Deans of Federal Institutions of Higher Education in Brazil, where they conducted a seminar. The Brazilian university deans echoed their support for the Council’s mission and expressed their eagerness to collaborate, particularly in the academic field.

Additionally, the delegation, led by Al Jarwan, met with Luiz Roberto Barroso, President of the Supreme Court of Brazil. President Barroso commended the Council’s efforts in promoting tolerance and peace worldwide and discussed with Al Jarwan ways to enhance cooperation in these areas.

The delegation also met with His Excellency Lilio Bentes Corrêa, President of the Supreme Labor Court of Brazil, who also praised the Council’s work and welcomed the delegation to Brazil.

In conclusion, Al Jarwan expressed his hope for continued and expanded cooperation with all relevant authorities in Brazil to further the dissemination of the values of tolerance and peace globally.
