The President of Kosovo confirms his support for the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and his accompanying delegation in Kosovo capital, Pristina, affirming his support for the Council and its lofty goals in promoting tolerance and peace around the world.

Al-Jarwan briefed President Thaçi on the role played by the Council in the international arena and the latest developments in promoting the culture of tolerance and peace in the world, stressing the need for joint diplomatic action and harnessing the mechanisms of soft power to face the challenges of international peace through the expansion of fanatical and extremist ideology and the spread of terrorism, racism and exclusion in order to reach a more tolerant and peaceful world.

For his part, Thaçi praised the efforts of the Al-Jarwan and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, stressing the importance of such a role in consolidating peace and spreading tolerance, expressing Kosovo’s readiness to cooperate in all possible ways with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.

Al-Jarwan also met with the Speaker of Kosovo’s Parliament, Kadri Veseli, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Behgjet Pacolli. Mr. Veseli welcomed HE Al-Jarwan and his accompanying delegation, praising the role of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.

For his part, Al-Jarwan briefed the Speaker of Kosovo’s Parliament on the latest developments of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in spreading a culture of tolerance and supporting peace efforts around the world. He also explained to Mr. Veseli the role of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, one of the organs of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, and his endeavors to unify international parliamentary efforts to spread tolerance and promote peace in the world.

For his part, Speaker of Kosovo’s parliament, strongly praised the role of the Global Council for tolerance and peace and its International Parliament, expressing the readiness of Kosovo’s parliament to work together and harness all possibilities to support the efforts of the Council, stressing the initiative of Kosovo’s parliament to nominate a member to join the International Parliament for tolerance and peace from Kosovo.
