The 4th session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) kicked off in Addis Ababa on the 26th of October 2019 under the chairmanship of HE Tagesi Gavu, Speaker of the Ethipian Parliament, with the participation of Ethiopian parliamentarians.
The opening session was attended by the a number of accredited ambassadors, diplomats, heads and representatives of regional, national and international institutions and parliaments from various countries and members of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from 40 countries. The Speaker of the Ethiopian Parliament opened the session with a welcoming speech and affirmed his country’s support for the World Council for Tolerance and Peace and its international parliament. For his part, His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the World Council for Tolerance and Peace, congratulated in his speech HE the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on winning the Nobel Peace Prize this year in recognition of his efforts in establishing the values of tolerance and peace, which has witnessed the international community in recent times.
His Excellency Aljarwan welcomed the new members who joined the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from Ethiopia, Serbia, Bangladesh and Ecuador.
