The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace participates in the general session of the Tripartite Committee in Brussels
H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, attended the opening speech of King Louis Philippe of Belgium, at the Trilateral Commission General Session Conference held in the Belgian capital, Brussels. Aljarwan headed the delegation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to the annual conference of the Commission, which includes an international group of Policymakers, parliamentarians, diplomats, businessmen, educators and media professionals, and aims to enhance international efforts to promote dialogue and communication efforts to address international challenges and promote peace in the world.
The annual meeting of the Trilateral Commission, held in Brussels from 21 to 23 June 2024, brought together nearly 400 leaders from across sectors, including politics, academia, finance and business, to discuss pressing global issues. Key topics included geopolitical tensions, particularly the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the implications of climate change, and the rapid advances in disruptive technologies and their societal impacts. Participants stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation to address these challenges, with the aim of promoting stability, economic development, environmental sustainability, democracy and the ethical use of technology. The meeting also focused on the geopolitical landscape of the Indo-Pacific region and the global food crisis, highlighting the need for resilient supply chains and examining the role of social media in democratic processes.
