President of the Thai National Assembly receives a delegation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace
The President of the Thai National Assembly, HE Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, welcomed a delegation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace headed by Mr. Musbeh Belaajid Al-Kutubi, Assistant to the President of the Council, in the Thai capital of Bangkok, and praised the Council’s role in spreading tolerance and peace around the world.
Al-Kutubi briefed the Speaker of the Thai National Assembly on the latest developments of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its work mechanisms through parliamentary diplomacy in spreading the culture of tolerance and supporting peace efforts around the world. He praised Thailand’s role and prestige in Asia and the world and its model of tolerance and peace, and explained to Wichitcholchai the role of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, one of the organs of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and its endeavors to unify international parliamentary efforts to spread tolerance and promote peace in the world. Al-Kutubi presented to the Speaker of the Thai National Assembly the invitation of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace to the Thai Parliament to nominate a member to join the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace from Thailand.
For his part, the Speaker of the Thai National Assembly highly praised the role of the Council and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, expressing the Assembly’s readiness to work together with the council and to harness all possibilities to support the efforts of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. Mr. Wichitcholchai also confirmed the Assembly’s readiness to nominate a member to represent Thailand at the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.
