Empowering Women for a More Tolerant and Peaceful World: H.E. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

On this International Women’s Day, we at the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace reaffirm our unwavering commitment to gender equality, empowerment, and the crucial role women play in fostering peace and tolerance across the globe. Women are not only the backbone of families and societies but also the architects of sustainable development, champions of human rights, and vital contributors to conflict resolution and diplomacy.

As we celebrate the remarkable achievements of women worldwide, we also recognize the challenges they continue to face—discrimination, violence, and barriers to equal opportunities. A world that denies the full participation of women is a world that limits its own progress. True peace, tolerance, and development cannot be achieved without the full inclusion and empowerment of women at all levels of decision-making.

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has always placed great emphasis on the role of women in peacebuilding, governance, and education. Through our international partnerships, legislative initiatives, and advocacy efforts, we strive to create inclusive spaces where women’s voices are heard and their leadership is recognized. From the appointment of women in key leadership positions within the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace to our educational programs that empower young female leaders, we are dedicated to ensuring that gender equality is not just a goal but a reality.

On this day, I call upon world leaders, institutions, and communities to strengthen their efforts in removing barriers that hinder women’s progress. We must invest in education, eradicate violence against women, and promote legal frameworks that protect their rights and amplify their influence. More importantly, we must foster a culture of tolerance where respect for women is not an exception but a fundamental principle of our societies.

As we look to the future, let us work together to build a world where every woman and girl can realize her full potential, contribute to peace and prosperity, and lead without fear or discrimination. Women are the pillars of peace, and their empowerment is the foundation upon which a just and tolerant world is built.

On behalf of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, I extend my deepest admiration and appreciation to all women who, despite the odds, continue to inspire, lead, and shape a better world for future generations. Today, we celebrate you—not just for what you have achieved, but for all that you will continue to accomplish in the journey toward peace, tolerance, and equality.
