At the 2025 World Summit of the Universal Peace Federation, Al Jarwan Calls for a More Just and Tolerant Global Order

Seoul, South Korea – During the second plenary session of the Asia-Pacific Union Forum, held as part of the 2025 World Summit organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), delivered a powerful address under the theme: “Contemporary Challenges to the Global Order: Toward a New Era of Peace and Prosperity.

”In his speech, Al Jarwan emphasized the urgent need to restore ethical and humanitarian values as the foundation for rebuilding trust in the international system. He warned of the alarming rise in hate speech and the spread of exclusion and division—symptoms, he noted, of unbridled self-interest and unfair global competition.

“This erosion of international solidarity has led to the decline of empathy, the rise of exclusion, the fear of the other, and a deepening distrust between peoples and governments.,” he stated, affirming the GCTP’s continued efforts—through its institutions—to counter hate speech and promote a culture of tolerance via legislation, education, and global cooperation.

Al Jarwan called for the formation of a new international alliance based on the principles of social justice, transparency, and sustainable development. He highlighted key initiatives of the Council, including the Master’s Program in Tolerance Studies and Global Peace, the Council of Religious Leaders, and the Universal Peace Charter.

He also stressed the need for strict adherence to international law, urging accountability for states that violate global conventions, and calling for a unified international stance to restore balance to the global order.

Turning to international crises, Al Jarwan gave special attention to the ongoing tragedy in Gaza. He described the siege, killing, and systematic destruction faced by the Palestinian people as “a blatant violation of all international norms and conventions” and called for an impartial international investigation and fair prosecution of those responsible. He urged the importance of implementing relevant United Nations resolutions, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Al Jarwan concluded by stating that peace and tolerance are no longer optional—they are essential.

“Hate cannot build nations, It can not secure Peace, and cannot sustain prosperity. Peace is not a luxury—it is a prerequisite for any true advancement,” he said, urging the international community to translate the rhetoric of tolerance into practical policies and institutional frameworks to build a more stable and humane future.
