Al-Jarwan praises the decisions of Al-Azhar International Conference in Support of Jerusalem
HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, praised “Al-Azhar International Conference in Support of Jerusalem” held by Al-Azhar on January 17 and 18, 2018 in cooperation with the Council of Muslim Sages and under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and in the presence of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine.
Al-Jarwan said that the convening of this important conference at this stage that is exposed to the city of Jerusalem in attempt to obliterate its Islamic and Christian Arab identity emphasizes the importance of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif’s role as an intellectual and spiritual reference in the Arab and Muslim world. In addition to the trust and appreciation he receives from various Christian references, and from the free and wise people of the world, and his fulfillment of the religious and humanitarian responsibility that he carries on his shoulder during his glorious history and statements.
Al-Jarwan also praised the efforts of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and all participants and supporters of the conference in defending the identity of Arab Jerusalem and addressing the desperate attempts to change the features of this holy and historical city.
On another hand, Al-Jarwan confirmed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace supports all that will support the interests of peace and the spread of tolerance among people. He also asserted that the wise people of the world and those who love peace and tolerance around the world reject these unilateral decisions towards the city of Jerusalem.
In conclusion, Al-Jarwan stressed the support of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace for the decisions of Al-Azhar International Conference to support Jerusalem and his support for the mechanisms of activating it and for what serves the interests of tolerance and peace in the world.
