President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace Participates in the Ecumenical Interfaith Prayer Gathering in Lebanon in the Presence of His Holiness the Pope
H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, affirmed that his participation in the ecumenical interfaith prayer gathering held in Lebanon — attended by His Holiness the Pope and featuring Christian and Muslim religious leaders — reflects the Council’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the values of shared faith, promoting mutual respect among religions, and fostering a more peaceful and stable world.
Al Jarwan stated that the coming together of different faiths under one roof on Lebanese soil carries a profound human and spiritual message, demonstrating that true faith — despite its diverse paths and traditions — converges on the universal principles of goodness, love, justice, and the preservation of human dignity.
He emphasized that Lebanon, with its long-standing model of religious and cultural pluralism, continues to show that the strength of societies lies in their ability to coexist, respect differences, and safeguard their unique civilizational heritage.
Al Jarwan added that the world today needs dialogue and bridge-building more than ever, stressing that peace is not granted but built, and its foundation begins in hearts that recognize the value of every human being. Peace, he noted, is strengthened when religions unite around shared moral ground.
He praised the significant role of His Holiness the Pope in nurturing a culture of peace, defending human dignity, and encouraging closeness among peoples and religions. He also commended the efforts of Lebanon’s religious institutions in promoting unity and solidarity during these challenging times.
Al Jarwan reaffirmed that the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace places the promotion of coexistence at the core of its mission, transforming the principles of tolerance into daily practice and establishing platforms for constructive dialogue among followers of different faiths and cultures. Participating in this gathering, he noted, is an extension of this longstanding commitment.
In conclusion, Al Jarwan expressed his hope that this spiritual encounter will serve as a bridge for love and unity, bringing peace and goodness to all of Lebanon, and guiding everyone toward what benefits humanity and strengthens global stability.
